Jared’s Micro-City Series is an exploration of humanity through architecture, highlighting the best and worst of us through the things we build and what we destroy to build them. He has found that a city can act as a perfect lens to view a culture through, and therefore a perfect allegory to tell stories and ignite our emotions. LEGO® bricks are the perfect tool for combining art and architecture in this way.

Deviation is the fifth installment in Jared’s Micro City series. The piece depicts a suburban development that is uniform, but lifeless. A single home breaks the mold of the others, showing it’s uniqueness and individuality. That expression of self bleeds into the drab colors, providing life into a hollow setting. This installment in the series provides commentary on the modern quashing of individuality through conformity, both in our homes and in our lives.
